bonjour ~

Welcome to the twenties world! I was once told that the twenties are the best years to make an account of precious memories of life, dreams and love–doing so in the most vibrant manner possible.

ART CLUB HERITAGE TOUR - G'TOWN FESTIVAL 7/7/2010
written on Thursday, July 8, 2010 @ 2:17 AM ✈

Okay, this is gonna be a very very long post ;)
GEORGETOWN FESTIVAL 2010
The SGGS Art Club decided to organise a penang heritage trip, which coincides with Georgetown Festival opening ceremony day. So, YAY, we've given opportunities to see what people usually dont see xD
The places that we visit include The Sire Museum Restaurant, Town Hall, Penang Peranakan Mansion, Art Gallery & The Last Chair which is located at the junction of Union Street and Penang Street and lastly Equator Academy of Arts.

Assemble at school, 8.30am. Amanda, yingting and I had breakfast before rushed to school. Aha.

Arrived at esplanade with school bus and walked all the way to our first destination, Town Hall.

Group photo=)

The Sire Museum Restaurant next.

The Last Chair by Leon Lim

The Last Chair is a public art done by world renowned artist, Leon Lim. He says that "The Last Chairs" public art installation will explore configurations of fact and interpretation through historical and social narratives and signs and symbols of George
Town. It also resembles the time frame of the old generations.
He's simply GREAT. Eventhough he's deaf but his achievement is darn impressive. His artworks has been exhibited in Total Museum of Contemporary Art in Seoul, South Korea and CAFA Art Museum in Beijing, China too. Like our school motto, If there's a Will, There's Always a Way ;)

Group photo with Leon Lim. Jane loves him sooooooooo much xDDD

Next,
Its the Pinang Peranakan Mansion! I love this place the most

The Entrance.
Entrance fee is Rm10.00 and the visiting hours are Monday to Sunday including Public Holidays from 9:30 am to 5 pm.
Lemme tell you a little about this historical place.
At the Pinang Peranakan Mansion, the typical home of a rich Baba of a century ago is recreated to offer a glimpse of their opulent lifestyle and of their many customs and traditions. With over 1,000 pieces of antiques and collectibles of the era on display, this Baba-Nyonya museum is also housed in one of Penang’s heritage mansion of eclectic design and architecture.

I'm drawn to the souvenirs thats available there.

The kitchen have lotsa interesting stuff! Woot

After 1 hour plus, we left and headed to art gallery. I dont really remember where it is and the name of the gallery. I guess its Alpha Art Gallery. I'm like exhausted that time so forgive meee.

We had luch after that, and then it rains.
45min later, we headed to the Blue mansion but its closed -____________-"
So our last stop was Equator Academy of Arts.

Wow.

After the heritage tour, I realised Penang is an awesome place after all! We always think that the grass is always greener the other side. But, now i knew that its the other way round. Rock on!
